Stream Your Xbox PC Game Purchases
In a story from hipster lifestyle (and also tech) outlet The Verge, we now know that if it’s an Xbox game that will play on PC, it’s coming to NVIDIA’s game streaming service. The only catch is that you will “still have to buy games individually before you can play them on GeForce Now”.
Quoting Microsoft president Brad Smith (via The Verge):
“Microsoft will be bringing its Xbox games that play on PCs to Nvidia’s GeForce Now cloud gaming service. We will also bring all of Activision Blizzard’s titles including Call of Duty to GeForce Now.”
Notice that he said “Xbox games that play on PCs”, and not Xbox Game Pass. Oh well, one subscription service at a time. Apparently this move does give Microsoft the support of NVIDIA in the ongoing Activision Blizzard acquisition saga. It remains to be seen if that deal will ever be completed. As to timing, quoting The Verge again, “games should start arriving on GFN in a matter of weeks, though it could take a year to complete.”
